Man of Tomorrow by onecoyote Man of Tomorrow by onecoyote
So tomorrow is the deadline for Project Rooftops Batman Redesign and I thought I would show what I did for the Superman one they had a while back. My idea for Superman was that like when originally showed up he had the super strength and leap over buildings but none of the other stuff. So he made a suit from the remnants of his spaceship and became Superman the man of tomorrow. Also I wanted him to be really super in the brain department and gave him some mental powers as well as being a super scientist. So his Space suit has a jetpack that helps him fly.

Now the first time I submitted something was the Ironman redesign (which is in my gallery). Now the judges really liked it but for some reason they never got it. Thanks to Dean Trippe for finding my design on my blog and asking to feature it on Project Rooftop (so cool). But my Superman got tore up because they just didnt understand why Supes needed a jetpack. I dont think anybody read the synopsis I sent with the pic. Oh well.... Here's hoping they like my Batman.

So here is my Man of Tomorrow Superman. Enjoy

Really cool concept. I love the old super strength and jumping superman, ala bulletproof cape, that sort of thing. Any time I bring up a concept like this around my circle of friends they chastise the hell outta me for it. This is great.

Dont let them make you feel bad! Mine do the same. Just remind them that Batman also has a bullet proof cape (depending on the writer) so it cant be that bad an idea.

I mean I don't like super heroes toned down in the name of 'realism' but sometimes, its nice to see all powerful ones grounded a bit more!

I remember this one from Project Rooftop, even if it's not the most iconic look, it's a very interesting reinterpretation. So what's with the jetpack? are those kirby dots coming out of it and the suit?

The idea was he built a suit from the remains of his spaceship and becomes the man of tomorrow! So he uses his powerful super brain to power the suit to fly and stuff.

Get it, get it, now it makes sense for him to be called the Man of tomorrow, cool idea.

I love all your work!! This interpretation of Superman is awesome, because I remember watching reruns of the old black and white Superman show and reading reprints of the original comic. The greatest thing about this is the overall sense of enjoyment Supes seems to have with life in general, both as Clark and as Kal (something sorely missed from the DC52 version..)
